ML125CF Launch

We launched the ML125CF Multilever at the NEC Cycle show 2015! This new tool is the updated version of the ML123, with ML3 (thermometer & clip) replaced by ML5 (chain-breaker). Made of our own blend of injection-moulded carbon fibre, and with the new, thinner, slimmer lever tip to allow even the smallest gap between rim & bead on a thin road tyre to be entered, these levers will make light of any tyre change work you need to take on.

Cycle Show 2015 at NEC

Just a let you know, in case you're not linked to our Facebook or Twitter accounts, that we'll be exhibiting again, in exactly the same place this year as last, at the Cycle Show at the NEC, from 24th September (trade & press) to 27th September. We have two new products launching at the show, and we'll be offering them at a special launch price, so come to stand H27 if you're there.

We've launched our second product already; the ML14.

Hot on the heels of the ML123, we've created two tyre levers, made of the same metal-replacement plastic, weighing only 58g. These levers, which carry over the £1 coin storage slots and split-chain link holder functionality from the ML123, are designed to support those people who've just bought themselves a multi-tool (and don't want to give up using it just yet!) or for those long-distance cyclists who want more than the ML123 has to offer in terms of tool functionality, but who do need a stronger, lighter pair of levers of a size that will enable them to get a good grip and lever that stubborn tyre off the wheel.

Available in Stique colours, i.e. combinations of blue, graphite grey and white, these levers still hold together using our strong magnets and have the same ergonomic shape to fit the hand.

At only £5.00 for the pair, you will find these levers give you value for money in a way other levers just cannot achieve.

Our latest effort to help explain what the Multilever ML123 does and is capable of doing is set out in this animation by our Product Design Engineer, Ed.

We're redesigning our packaging for sale at retail. The hanging cards we designed for the launch at the NEC Cycle Show weren't good enough. We couldn't fit enough of them into a box for shipping and the cards were too easily damaged. The new design will address these issues, as well as giving us space to ship the neoprene case at the same time.

We'll be sharing images soon, to show how the packaging looks. Its design allows us to ship 20 in a box, making it more cost effective to ship to retailers and distributors in the UK and internationally.

We're sure you'll let us know what you think.

Kickstarter Success and NEC Cycle Show

A lot has happened since the last time we posted on our website. Our Kickstarter project was successfully funded, after a final surge of funding in the closing days. We got some great reviews in the press, and raised £15,000 towards our development costs, as well as engaging with a whole crowd of people who just love our product.

Our design, sales, and marketing guys are now busy preparing for the run-up to the NEC Cycle Show, which is just round the corner (25th-28th September). We have just sent off an order for 600 postcards with discount codes on to hand out to the NEC-goers who come and visit us at our stand.

Why Kickstarter?

We have decided to launch a project on Kickstarter, as the manufacture of the Multilevers has become more complicated now that we have moved it into a three-lever design, with cast-alloy workpiece holder and rubberized over-moulded tool bank. Instead of one tool, as before, we now need three.

The total cost of tooling has meant this can no longer be funded by ‘Stique alone...

It's Alive!

We’re at the final stages of getting our website launched, just in time for the Kickstarter launch; and I’m very excited. I’ve always wanted a really nice looking website – with a shop! And now I think we’re going to have one – with a shop!! E-commerce; on-line ordering – all to come once we complete the (a successful?) Kickstarter project and pedal towards production manufacturing...

Field Testing the Multilever

So I thought I would update you on the recent field trials and what it's meant for the development of the Multilever.

A collection of mountain bikers and road cyclists from Gary Foord’s team at Mammoth Lifestyle, as well as some more road cyclists from BRAT (Birmingham Running, Athletics and Triathlon), arranged through our mad-keen cyclist patent attorney, were given Multilevers to trial...
