A lot has happened since the last time we posted on our website. Our Kickstarter project was successfully funded, after a final surge of funding in the closing days. We got some great reviews in the press, and raised £15,000 towards our development costs, as well as engaging with a whole crowd of people who just love our product.
Our design, sales, and marketing guys are now busy preparing for the run-up to the NEC Cycle Show, which is just round the corner (25th-28th September). We have just sent off an order for 600 postcards with discount codes on to hand out to the NEC-goers who come and visit us at our stand.
While all that's going on, we keep checking on progress at Goodfish's toolroom. They are working overtime to get the tooling completed in time for moulding trials next week.
The Kickstarter process gave us a lot of useful feedback on our levers, much of it directed at the top lever ('ML3'). For those who have been following the development of the Multilever reasonably closely, you will know that we're working hard on designing a replacement ('ML4') for the top lever. This means replacing the thermometer and clip with a chain-breaker. We're trying to be innovative here, so we're looking at a number of different ideas.
To help us with all the design work involved in ML4 and the other many other products we have in mind to launch next year, we've recruited a new member to the team. Ed, who is studying Product Design and Management at Aston University, is already applying his product design skills to a number of the products in the pipeline. His early sketches confirm to us that he will be a great help to us in our ambitions to launch three new products next year.
His previous experience in designing exhibition show stands for Bang & Olufsen and Belstaff ties in very neatly with our immediate focus on getting ready for the NEC Cycle Show. Look out for us on stand 'H27', which should look something like the image above.
Please come along and say 'hello' if you're at the show but, if you're undecided, maybe we can tempt you with the fact that we'll be handing out cards from our stand with a code printed on the back that will enable you to buy a Multilever at a 'Show Special' price. If all goes to plan, you might even be able to get your hands on a Multilever at the Show.
